Taylor Swift Fans React To Her Pulling Fearless Album Out Of The Grammys

Publish date: 2024-08-03

Taylor Swift has removed Fearless Taylor’s Version, her 2021 re-recorded album from 2008, from the Grammy's and the CMA Awards. This decision seems to be what is best for the pop star going forward.

“After careful consideration, Taylor Swift will not be submitting Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in any category at this year’s upcoming Grammy and CMA Awards,” according to a Republic Records representative. “Fearless has already won four Grammys including album of the year, as well as the CMA Award for album of the year in 2009/2010 and remains the most awarded country album of all time.”

After Scooter Braun bought her former label in 2019, Big Machine Label Group, Swift lost the rights to her first six albums. This began an ongoing feud between her and her former manager, Braun.

Swift remade her album Fearless and will continue to re-record all her songs until she owns the complete rights to all of her creations.

Billboard Announces 'Fearless' News

Other talented artists deserve the opportunity to win an award over Swift winning the award a second time for the same project. Stepping down from the running was a very mature and selfless idea on her part.

This move also allows voters to focus more on her 2020 albumEvermore, and avoid distraction by her older songs. Seems like Swift is her own competitor...

Taylor Swift was not afraid to flex the fact that Fearless is already the most awarded country album in history. Therefore, there is no need for the album to be in contention.

Fans React To Swift's Message

@taydaloo responded, "once again proving that the whole point of these re-recordings was to own her music. it was never a strategic tactic to make more money/win more awards & lmaoooo jokes on everyone who had a breakdown when it was revealed the albums were eligible  “I wAnT mY fAvS tO dO tHiS tOo.”

@RajabAlmukarrom wrote, "I’m proud of her decision here. The re-recording album wasn’t about the prize-winning material, it was all about she owned her arts. Plus she’s trying not to be greedy, she knew evermore is enough for the award shows, let’s just make chances for new artists to shine."

Let's see if Swift's album Evermore can single-handedly take over these 2021 award shows.
