3 min readHip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs fell out of favor with the public following footage of him attacking Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in a hotel hallway. Before the leaked footage hit the media, Homeland Security raided two of Combs’ properties. An insider says Combs views the leaked hotel footage as a “distraction” from the Homeland Security raid.
Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs thinks the video of him hurting Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura is a ‘distraction,’ source says
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs issued an apology following the leak of footage that shows him physically attacking Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel lobby in 2016. Before the footage hit the media, Ventura described the incident in a 2023 lawsuit against Combs. Ventura alleged that Combs raped, assaulted, and sex trafficked her. They settled the lawsuit a day after Ventura filed.
Combs apologized for the events that occurred in the leaked footage. However, an insider told the New York Post that that video “doesn’t tell the full story” of what happened between him and Ventura.
“He’s incensed,” a member of his inner circle said. “Especially about the video. He insists it doesn’t tell the full story about what happened. Not that he’s excusing it, but he says that it’s a selected video.”
The insider added that Combs feels the video release was part of a more extensive “agenda” against him. “It’s his position that there was an agenda in releasing the video when it was released,” the source added. “But ultimately, he knows that his big concern is the raids on his house; the Cassie video is just a distraction.”
Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs’ ex-head of security said Combs’ apology is ‘self-centered’
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs released an Instagram apology video following the footage showing his attack on Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
“My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” Combs said in the video with the caption, “I’m truly sorry.” ” … I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went, and I sought out professional help; I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry.”
Combs’ former head of security, Roger Bonds, said on Piers Morgan Uncensored that he believes Combs’ apology is “self-centered.”
“I didn’t see no tears, you know what I’m saying?” Bonds said. “I just see something that people would feel that had to be done.” Bonds added that Combs lacked any “proof” that he received professional help following the hotel incident. “But saying that you went to get help, where’s the proof that you went to get help?” the former security guard continued. “Why you didn’t say her name at this particular time?”
The footage of Sean “P. Diddy” Combs attacking Casandra “Cassie” Ventura is causing him to lose business. America’s Best Contacts and Eyewear pulled Combs’ glasses made under his brand, Sean John, from their shelves. The company also stopped selling the brand online. Sources told TMZ that the company started pulling the glasses in April 2024 following the Homeland Security raids. Combs’ Sean John brand brings in revenue exceeding $525 million annually.
Peloton also announced that Combs’ music would no longer play on its platform after the hotel footage leak.
