Mike Holmes, also known as Mike Sr, Big Mike, is a Canadian builder, businessman, who runs successful businesses such as Mike Holmes Inspection, The Holmes Group, Make It Right Productions, etc. Similarly, Big Mike is also a television host, recognized for hosting the HGTV Canada series Holmes on Homes.

The talented contractor was born as Michael James Holmes on August 3, 1963, in Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada. Mike is the son of Shirley Holmes (mother) and Jim Holmes (father). 

Concerning education, Holmes earned an Honorary Doctorate of Pedagogy from Niagara University, New York. He also received an Honorary Doctorate Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
